single cutaway dreadnaught, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, Grovers, tortoise shell pickguard, Fishman electronics (with tuner and equalizer), abalone rosette, action lowered and VERY comfortable!

I do both delicate finger picking and hard rythm pounding. This guitar rings out with sound--very bright throughout the whole spectrum. It rivals (and in some ways surpasses) my 1974 Guild D25. This is becoming my favorite guitar.
Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Truly easy to play for hours on end. Not a single flaw to be found in the binding, inlays, grain match, no buzzing. Came out of the case after delivery and was in tune and ready to go. The guys at the club thought I was pulling a brand new Martin out of the case! btw, the optional hardshell case is top notch.
Reliability/Durability : 10
I've had it for 3 months now, banging on it daily. Although the guitar is fairly light weight, it seems quite solid. Nothing is coming apart, looks as if this should last many many years. The other 11 guitars I have require tuning and minor adjustments every time I take them out of the case. Not this one. Truly Plug and Play.
Customer Support : 10
Every email I've sent to Dennis Zager Jr. has been answered not just within 24 hours, but usually within half an hour! They offer complete satisfaction. Period. No small print. If you don't like it, return it. I'll repeat part of their guarantee because it really says it--"the only guitar company who offers a 100% money back guarantee that includes all shipping, handling and insurance charges both ways...No restocking fees, no hidden charges, no BS." Dennis takes the time to help you with what you want and ensures you get the right guitar for your needs. I don't think they get many (if any) returns! I'd rate this one even higher than 10 if I could.
Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 40 years. I own Guilds, Gibsons, Fenders, Epiphone, Ibanez, Schecter, (and Zagers!) electrics and acoustics. Play rock, metal, praise, country. I will compare this to any guitar you want--it will sound as good if not better. I liked this guitar so much, I bought a second one in black. Wish I could get the higher end model (SAD-80CE, cedar top with rosewood sides/back) but they have no more and Denny has retired. The only negative about this ZAD-50CE is that it's not quite as pretty as the ZAD-80CE! If somebody needs more info, have Harmony Central forward me your email. Visit zager guitars

Solid Spruce top. Mahogany back and sides. All Gloss, beautiful guitar,
mine has the sunburst finish. Thin mahogany neck with the "zager string
science" that allows for incredible easy plyability. I'm 50 years old
and this is the easiest playing acoustic guitar I've ever seen.
*Sound :* 10
Beautifull tone to match the looks. Unbeleveably easy to fingerpick.Very
easy to play barre chords all the way up the neck. The sound is mellow
but strong without any "muddines". The guitar sounds as good as it looks
and that is no easy feat.
*Action, Fit, & Finish :* 10
Hand made guitar, hand made saddle, hand made bridge, special hand
adjusted string spacing. A lot of time and effort went into building
this guitar and it shows. Danny Zager hand signs all guitars personally.
If your dissatisfied he will pay for shipping both ways as well as give
you a 100% refund.
*Reliability/Durability :* 10
Only time will tell but it seems as sturdy as a tank!

call and they'll talk to you right away. The BEST customer support in
the industry.

Zager guitar is made to be played and played and played. Virtually no
hand or finger fatigue. I thought because my Multiple Sclerosis was
causing me to loose the srength in my fingers and my hand was cramping
so bad I had to give up my acoustics. I didn't own any cheap guitars
either .I had a Martin D-16GT and a Taylor 310-CE. This is the first
acoustic I've been able to play in 2 years and no fatigue, cramping or
pain. This guitar is the hardest to put down of any Acoustic I've ever
owned. I have a Fender ash stratocaster that I had a luthier put a
Fishman Power bridge in and I have a Parker (03) Nightfly M because that
was the only way I thought I'd ever be able to play Acoustic again.Thank
you Mr Zager..you make the easiest to play acoustic on EARTH!! and it
SOUNDS as good as it looks. Check them out at Zagerguitars.com

Features : No Opinion
I do not know the year, but I bought it in 2010 new. Solid spruce top. No controls. No pickup. No electronics. Mahogany back and sides. Natural gloss finish. Full size Dreadnought. Grover tuners. Rosewood fretboard. Hard case. Abalone inlays. This doesn't have any extra features. They offer models with features but I like a simple guitar no frills. I use my own pickup which I prefer to built in electronics.
Sound : 10
Zager guitar suits my style better than any other guitar I have owned. This is number 4. I play modern praise and worship music. I am using it with my own pickup. This guitar sounds exactly like a Martin which is why I bought it. I figerpick usually but I just picked up some faster tempo strumming. I was very disapointed in my last guitar because fingerpicked it sounded great. But hard strumming sounded absolutely hideous. I played Martins at the store and fell in love, but money is an issue. I am so excited about the sound of this guitar. It sounds great both strummed and fingerpicked. Now I don't have to try and carry around two guitars. Very full sound. Its bright but whith allot of chime and not at all overly high pitched. I like the high end, its not to tin sounding like some. The high end is not whimpy either! And keep in mind I am using extra light strings. So that is amazing! I really can not think of anything that I do not like about the sound. The sound is really the best I have played so I am thrilled with that.
Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Ok, the set up is superb. I have owned 3 other guitars. Each one came with a terrible set up. I had to take them into my guitar shop to be set up which costs about 50-75. But....often it was not done right and I had to take them in for more work. I can not say that I have really ever been satisfied with my guitar set ups in the past. I have only been playing for almost 2 years and to be honest my fingers are usually killing me. This Zagar? No set up flaws. Came ready to play with very low easy action. It was even in tune when it got here. Packed nicely too. As far as finish goes I have seen better. Its plain. Nothing fancy or to get excited about. I just had a violin finish Ibanez which looked so killer you would not believe. But....you should not choose a guitar by how it looks. I learned that the hard way. The action is a 10 all the way. I give this a 9 because of the finish. They could improve the finish a little. I ordered one with just very minor blemishes, but it bugged me. So they replaced it immidiately no questions asked.
Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I think it can withstand live playing. I don't see anything on it that looks like it would break. But I have not played it long enough to really have an opinion. And I only play at home groups and church things so I don't really know.
Customer Support : 10
I have never had such good customer support. Really, I was almost shocked because these days there are just so few companies who back up and deliver what they say they will. The nicest people. Very fast shipping, no hassle at all. I don't think you would have any risk involved here, they offer a 100% money back guarantee, even on shipping costs! I am most satisfied.
Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing only like a year and a half. The only thing I wish is that I would have bought this guitar at the beginning. I have very sensitive fingers and I almost wanted to stop playing because even after my first year playing daily, my fingers always hurt. I went through three guitars and just could not solve the problem. I would play Martin and Taylors at the store and wanted one so bad because of the good play, but I just could not spend that much. I was leary to buy a Zagar cause I had never heard of it, but I was so desperate, I gave it a shot. I am so happy I did. I now can play for about two hours solid with no finger pain. You know another thing is that I played it right away. I did not have to spend much time getting used to it. It is a nice fit. I am so thankful! I love this guitar because I strum the heck out of it and it sounds great. I also love the set up. I wish it looked like my Ibanez violin finish, he he. But I realize these are modeled after Martins and Martins are simple looking guitars. No frills. But great sound and play.
